Annual Dinner: Our Annual Dinner celebrates a year of accomplishment and presents the Persis Yates B oyesen Award, the David L. Dickinson Award, and the Joseph Cosentino Award to persons who have contributed to our efforts over the previous year.
Battle of Ogdensburg: This annual event presents in real time a reenactment of the historic attack on Ogdensburg during the War of 1812. While the US and Canadian border is the world’s longest demilitarized border, this has not always been the case. The Fort La Présentation Association and Forsyth’s Rifles host the annual event in downtown Ogdensburg.
La Siege: The Siege of Fort La Presentation is held in July at the fort site on Van Rensselaer Point, Ogdensburg, bringing re-enacters from throughout the U.S. and Canada to recreate the city’s French colonial history.
Skirmish on the Oswegatchie: The Skirmish is a new event designed to illustrate the history of Fort Oswegatchie, which was operated by British forces during and after the American Revolution. The re-enactment is based on two historical scouting parties that departed from the Mohawk Valley to gather intelligence about Fort Oswegatchie. Re-enactors participate in artillery and musket firing demonstrations and demonstrators present activities relating to cooking, butter making, herbalism, children’s toys, and soldier equipment used during scouting missions.
