Julie Breen Madlin has been the historian for the City of Ogdensburg, NY since 2014. She has been a social studies teacher at nearby Heuvelton Central School since 1995 and is a former assistant at the Ogdensburg Public Library.
She earned a bachelor of arts in history cum laude from Syracuse University and master of science in teaching from the state university at Potsdam, NY. She is a member of the choir and genealogist for Notre Dame Church, and an experienced Historian with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry.
She prepared these excellent videos of historic homes and other structures and historic individuals, with grant money from the Northern New York Community Foundation and the Sweetgrass Foundation. Julie is a former member of the board of the Fort La Presentation Association and is the Association’s Living History Day chair. She may be contacted at cityhistorian@ogdensburg.org.
