Annual Dinner is Jan. 17

The Fort La Presentation Association will hold its annual dinner Jan. 17 at the Ogdensburg Elks Club. The public is most welcome to attend with a social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. to include a life and silent auction, and dinner at 6 p.m.
   The cost is $30 before Jan. 11 and $35 after. The menu includes two entrees, pan fried boneless chicken breast in a creamy herb sauce or beef tips, with, mashed potatoes, gravy, glazed roasted carrots, tossed salad with Italian dressing and dinner rolls.
   The association is seeking donations for the auction and items may be mailed to  PO Box 1749, Ogdensburg, 13669. The name of the donor and address, and value of the item should be included. For information, or items to be picked up, email president@fort1749.org. Proceeds support the upkeep of the fort site and walking trail and the association’s annual activities including the Battle of Ogdensburg re-enactment, Primite Snowshow Biathlon, La Siege, and this year a new event, Skirmish on the Oswegatchie.
   The association also honors individuals for their efforts on its behalf at the annual dinner and James “Andy” Rymph will receive the Persis Yates Boyesen Award which is presented to individuals or organizations who have made an outstanding contribution to sponsor the historically accurate reconstruction and ongoing presence of Fort La Presentation. The David L. Dickenson Annual Volunteer Award for outstanding commitment of time and effort dedicated to the fort will be presented to David Fisher, and the Joseph Cosentino Award for special recognition for generous commitment of self and resources to the association will go to David D. Austin.
